What radiators are usually made of aluminium?

Answer: From the thermal conductivity of materials, silver is the best, copper, gold is the second, and then aluminum, but the price of gold and silver is relatively expensive, which is not suitable for large-scale use; the thermal conductivity of copper is better than that of aluminum, but the weight of copper is about twice that of aluminium and the formability of copper is poor, so it can only be made into simple shapes; the thermal conductivity of aluminium is good, the weight is light, and the processing formability is poor. Compared with copper, it is cheaper, corrosion-resistant and can be made into various complex shapes by using processing equipment, which can meet many requirements of the electronic and power industry for radiators, so it is considered to be the best material for making radiators; while 6063 Aluminium alloy has good thermal conductivity, formability, moderate strength after strengthening treatment, which is suitable for all kinds of machining. The preferred material of radiator for moulding materials.



Why is the price of aluminium radiator more expensive than that of ordinary aluminium profile?

Answer: Because there are special requirements for making aluminium material for radiator, including chemical composition, complex shape, smoothness of bottom plate, surface treatment, etc. The thermal conductivity of aluminium material made of 6063 brand is several times that of miscellaneous aluminium. When making finished products of radiator, it is usually necessary to machine and surface treatment of aluminium material, which will reduce the material. Material utilization rate, so the price per unit weight will be more expensive than ordinary aluminum profiles.

How does the surface color of the radiator affect the heat dissipation performance?

Answer: Usually the surface color of the radiator is made into silver white (aluminum color), black, golden yellow and other bright colors. Because black has the strongest thermal radiation capacity, under the condition of natural convection, the radiation capacity of the black radiator is higher than that of the silver one.

About 5%, while golden and other bright colors, will not increase the heat dissipation capacity or increase very little, but can play a protective role on the surface. Under the condition of forced cooling (such as air cooling), the surface color of the radiator has no effect on the heat dissipation performance.



How to calculate the radiation area of aluminium radiator?

Answer: The radiation area of aluminium radiator is equal to (circumference * truncation length). Among them, the circumference is provided by the manufacturer's drawings, and the truncation length is determined by the user. Simply, it can be estimated by (2 * fin height * fin number + base plate width) * truncation length. If the fin has small teeth, its radiation area is larger than that without small teeth.( The fins of smooth teeth are increased by about 15%.
